To encourage the advancement of geophysical sciences.
To serve as a means of facilitating communication and co-operation among members, and with other bodies.
To investigate and report on matters of general interest to New Zealand geophysicists.
To serve as a channel for the expression of the views of New Zealand geophysicists.
To encourage and give recognition to high standards of geophysical research in New Zealand.
To hold conferences and meetings in order to further the above objects.
